Alter Experiences in the Press

Since its founding in 2016 by husband-and-wife team Rami and Shantel Abdel, Alter Experiences has grown from a passion project into one of San Diego’s most talked-about glamping destinations — and the press has taken notice.

CBS National News (August 2019)

The most prominent media milestone came when CBS News ran a national feature on the glamping trend, spotlighting Alter Experiences as a leading example. Founder and CEO Shantel Seoane was interviewed for the piece, titled “Adventure In Style As Glamping Becoming A Popular New Trend.” The story highlighted how guests at Alter Experiences could sleep under the stars in one-of-a-kind tree tents nestled in San Diego’s backcountry — and Shantel described the experience as “soothing, peaceful, and really a kind of magical experience.” The story ran across the CBS network including CBS Miami and CBS affiliate WFMY News 2, amplifying the brand to a national audience.

Kickstarter Campaign (2019)

In spring 2019, Alter Experiences launched a Kickstarter campaign titled “Kickstart Glamping in San Diego — Tree Tent Retreat” to fund their next phase of expansion. The campaign drew 83 backers and offered early supporters the chance to book glamping experiences at promotional rates. It was during this exciting growth period that the CBS story aired, bringing national attention to the campaign and the brand.
