When we launched Alter Experiences, we set out to find the most comfortable and extraordinary tent on the market. We wanted something unique and exciting that would awaken the inner child and encourage people to camp more often. It was also very important to us that we aligned with a company with the highest ethical and green standards, which would compliment our sustainably oriented tourism model. After weeks of research and testing out gear, we decide that Tentsile Tree Tents would be our flagship product.
Tentsile’s one of a kind design, industrial strength quality and devotion towards conservation is everything we were looking for and more! For every tent sold they plant 18 trees and work with organizations to help stop deforestation. Their mission is to plant 1 million trees and that’s a mission that we can definitely get behind!
But ultimately we had to make sure that we weren’t the only ones crazy about them; guest satisfaction would be the ultimate stamp of approval… and they passed with flying colors!
We’ve hosted guests from all walks of life, from avid campers to total newbies! We’ve had parents with kids as young as 2 & 3 years old that were fascinated by our double bubble setup. We hosted parents that had bonding opportunities with their kids that they had only dreamt of. We even had several ladies retreats and a small bachelor party, to our pleasant surprise!
These are the kind of wonderful experiences we envisioned our guests having and we can’t wait to expand our operation to be able to host many more groups to come!
Our operation is growing fast as outdoor hospitality trends continue to grow in popularity around the world.
As part of our broad and on-going efforts, our team is launching a Kickstarter campaign starting on March 1, 2019. The money being raised will be used to outfit new sites in the Cleveland National Forest and some of our other sites in San Diego's backcountry.
Our goal is to raise $25,000 to outfit 6-8 additional glamping sites throughout the San Diego backcountry including places such as; Laguna / El Prado Campground, Cleveland National Forest. We'll also be staging a few sites in the Burnt Rancheria campground, as well as Fort Cross in Julian.
The money raised will be used to purchase equipment to outfit our various sites, including more Tentsile tree tents.
You can read more about this project here.
With your help, we hope to continue getting people outdoor in nature and supporting the growth of sustainable tourism in San Diego.
