Visit Baja California

Your Baja Adventure Awaits

We're so excited to finally introduce our Baja Glampouts! We've been working on this project for a few years now and our team has created a custom tour with all the best that Baja California has to offer.

In order to ensure a top notch experience and in light of the pandemic, we have very limited availability at this time.

Our packages are starting at $550 for up to 3 nights of beachfront glamping along the Sea of Cortez.

Sign-up to our waiting list and we'll be in touch with further details.

Let’s face it. Traditional vacation travel will not be the same for the foreseeable future.

It’s time to start thinking very strategically about vacation destination options into at least 2022.

Lucky for us in Southern California, our neighbors in Baja are eager to host you, with an unlimited amount of attractions and experiences within a reasonable driving distance.

It’s a very exciting time for Mexico’s travel industry, as more and more US vacationers seek local and staycation experiences to our neighbors in the south.

While many other destinations have taken a very restrictive approach as a result of COVID-19, Mexico has instead focused on rigorous cleanliness, safety and various other protocols.

Our glamping concept is outdoor based and our sites are located in very remote beaches along the Sea of Cortez. We can ensure a completely safe and socially isolated camping experience for you and your family.

Join us and rediscover the hidden gem that is Baja California and the Sea of Cortez! Our dedicated guides will make sure you have a safe, wonderful and culturally immersive experience. We know the region very well and have created a custom itinerary of the best attractions Baja Norte has to offer.

Baja Norte Itinerary Options

3 nights / 4 days Itinerary

Day 1 | San Felipe

The drive to San Felipe is just under 5 hours, depending on where you’re coming from in San Diego. Our team members will meet you at Taco Factory in the San Felipe, Malecon at a designated time.

We’ll have lunch at Taco Factory, or other restaurant and then provide a full tour of the town of San Felipe. You can choose to stay up to 3 nights closer to San Felipe center - beach front glamping at "El Sanctuario," or we can proceed down to Gonzaga Bay for up to 6 nights for glamping at "La Poma."

Day 2 | Gonzaga Bay (optional)

Spend the day at the beautiful sheltered bay and isthmus of San Luis de Gonzaga. This gorgeous bay is perfect for snorkeling and paddle boarding in the clear and warm waters of the Sea of Cortez. There is a beach front restaurant along the isthmus that offers some of the best seafood this side of Baja. We can also schedule a boat tour to some of the many islands in the area. The island of “El Huerfenaito” is easily accessible from shore and you can take the paddle board out to explore this unique attraction. There are so many water activities to try including; deep sea, fishing, spearfishing, free diving and scuba diving. We’re happy to create a custom tailored water activity program for you.

Day 3 | Puertecitos Hot Springs (optional)

Spend the day kayaking or paddle boarding in the sheltered bay of Puertecitos. Immerse yourself in the therapeutic sulphur hot springs along the shoreline at high tide.

Puertecitos is one of Baja Norte’s most popular attractions for good reason. This secluded and sheltered bay is one of the most remote areas in the region, featuring one of the only natural hot springs in the Baja region.

Day 4 | Brunch in Mexicali

You’ll start making your way back home on day 4, with a final stop in Mexicali for brunch at El Arco Restaurant. You can visit the salt flats just outside of Mexicali on the way back, or do some shopping at Plaza La Cachanilla.

Day 6 - Optional Tour to Bahia de Los Angeles

We can extend your stay for an extra 2 days, if you’re interested in visiting Bahia de los Angeles.

Bahia the Los Angeles is an extremely unique habitat, where the Sea of Cortez gets much deeper along the San Andreas Fault. This creates upswell and currents, which brings rich nutrients and many pelagic species.

This enormous sheltered bay consists of many beautiful and remote islands. The largest island “Isla Angel de la Guarda” is almost 70 miles. This enormous island creates the sheltered conditions of the bay, with 5 other islands in between it and the shoreline. It’s one of the most unique topographies we’ve seen in all of Baja.

The small fishing town has a few restaurants and taco stands, as well as a small museum. You can spend a day at the beach and snorkel in the warm and clear waters. In the fall and summer months, whale sharks congregate in the bays and you can usually reach them from the shore. This is one of the most magical wildlife experiences you can ever have.

We can also take a trip out with Ricardo’s Diving Center to do the following:

1. Swim with the whale sharks (seasonal)
2. Get a tour of the islands and do some snorkeling
3. Spearfishing / deep sea fishing
4. Diving

We’ll be staying at one of the various beach camps along the bay in our standard bell tents. Please let us know if you’d like a custom itinerary for activities. The drive from Bahia San Luis de Gonzaga to Bahia de los Angeles is about 3 hours along HWY5. The road is well maintained and very safe.

The drive back from Bahia de los Angeles to Mexicali is about 6 hours.
